The problem in carpentry and remodeling

Remodeling marketing breaks the usual rules. A plumber can run an ad on Monday and fix a leak on Tuesday. A remodeler runs an ad in February, books a consultation in March, sends a design proposal in April and signs a contract in May. If you judge the campaign in February, it looks like a waste.

Common problems we find:

  • Keywords too broad for the work you want. "Contractor near me" and "home repair" bring in handyman requests and small fix-it jobs when you're trying to sell kitchens and additions.
  • Ads that don't match the landing page. An ad about bathroom remodeling sends people to a homepage leading with deck photos.
  • No connection between ad spend and signed contracts. Without lead-source tracking through a long sales cycle, you can't tell whether Google, Facebook or your referral network produced last year's best jobs.
  • Leads abandoned after one call. A homeowner who says "we're thinking about next spring" is a good lead. Most remodelers never contact them again.
  • A Google Business Profile with no project photos, in a trade where the work itself is the most convincing thing you can show.

What we run for remodelers

  1. Google Ads by project type. Campaigns for kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, basement finishing and additions, each with tight keywords, negatives for handyman and DIY searches, and its own landing page.
  2. Meta campaigns that work over time. Before-and-after carousels and project walk-through videos shown to homeowners in your target towns, plus retargeting for people who viewed your portfolio but didn't reach out. Our article on Facebook ads for remodelers explains the approach.
  3. Lead forms that qualify. Project type, budget range and timeline captured up front, so your team can prioritize the leads ready to move.
  4. Google Business Profile and reviews. Project photos by type and town, accurate service lists and a review request after each final walkthrough.
  5. Local SEO and location pages. Service and town pages that build search visibility for kitchen, bath and remodeling searches over months and years.
  6. Long-cycle reporting. Every lead tracked in your CRM from click to consult, proposal and signed contract, with monthly reports that look back far enough to show which campaigns produced the projects.

How it works

  1. Audit. We review your ad accounts, website and Google Business Profile, and look at where your best past projects came from.
  2. Build campaigns. We build or rebuild campaigns around your service area and the project types with the margins you want.
  3. Launch and track. We connect every campaign to your CRM so each lead's source follows it to the signed contract.
  4. Optimize monthly. We cut what produces tire-kickers and put more behind what produces consultations and contracts.

What to look for (even if you don't hire us)

Ask any agency or freelancer running remodeling ads:

  • Are kitchen, bath, basement and addition searches in separate campaigns?
  • What negative keywords are blocking handyman, DIY, cost-guide and job-seeker searches?
  • Does every ad point to a page about that specific project type?
  • How will a lead from March be connected to a contract signed in July?
  • What happens to leads who aren't ready yet? Is there a follow-up plan, or just a single call?
  • Will reports show signed projects and revenue by source, not just clicks?

Our guide to tracking where your leads come from walks through setting up source tracking yourself.
